mTOR pathway
A protein-kinase signaling pathway central to ketamine-induced plasticity.
Mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) is a kinase complex that regulates protein synthesis at synapses. Ketamine transiently activates mTORC1 in the medial prefrontal cortex, driving synaptogenesis, spine formation, and the sustained antidepressant response observed after a single dose.
