Response vs. remission

Two distinct clinical endpoints in depression treatment.

Response is typically a ≥50% reduction in symptom severity; remission is a return to a near-symptom-free state (e.g., MADRS ≤10 or PHQ-9 <5). Ketamine achieves response faster than SSRIs, though sustained remission usually requires maintenance.
