Ketamine and High Blood Pressure
Ketamine acutely raises blood pressure. Well-controlled hypertension is usually compatible; uncontrolled hypertension is not.

What clinics monitor
- Baseline BP and pulse at check-in.
- BP every 10–15 minutes during the session.
- Pre-defined thresholds for pausing or treating elevated BP.
- Discharge after BP returns toward baseline.
Coordinate with your physicians
Bring a recent BP log. Continue your antihypertensive medications as prescribed unless your clinician advises otherwise.
