Cognitive integration
Re-examining the stories you tell yourself about who you are and what is possible.
Stories as scaffolding
Much of suffering is held in place by old narratives. Sessions can briefly loosen them; integration is where you decide what to rebuild.
How to practice
Write the old story plainly. Write the story your experience is suggesting. Notice the gap, and the small actions that close it.
Practices to try
- Belief inventory
- Reframe writing
- Working with a therapist on persistent narratives
