Why meditate after sessions

Meditation strengthens the same capacities integration relies on: noticing without reacting, returning attention, and tolerating discomfort.

Choosing a practice

Breath-focused, body scan, open awareness, or loving-kindness. There is no single 'right' style. Match the practice to your state on a given day.

How much

Short and daily beats long and sporadic. Ten to twenty minutes is a useful baseline.

Practices to try

  • 10 minutes of breath awareness daily
  • Body scan before sleep
  • Loving-kindness when self-criticism spikes
